Assistant Professor in Biology
The Biology Department invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor to begin August 27, 2007. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Biology and demonstrated interest in undergraduate education. The successful candidate will redesign, direct, and help teach a large general education non-majors Natural Science Biology course. The applicant is expected to develop an externally supported research program. Substantial start-up funds are available. Preference will be given to individuals with refereed publications in science pedagogy who have taught life sciences using active, inquiry-oriented instructional approaches. Experience in developing distance learning and program assessment is an asset. For further information visit the department website at http://www.uakron.edu/biology/.
